Français : Le théâtre expérimental est une qualification utilisée pour désigner les spectacles qui ne suivent pas les canons habituellement rencontrés dans ce domaine, les représentations qui sont difficilement classifiables et le théâtre avant-gardiste tentant de nouvelles expériences ou utilisant une méthode expérimentale.
Português: Teatro experimental é um produto intelectual artístico que pretende romper e criticar com a ordem teatral pré-estabelecida. Surge no século XIX e engloba o teatro de vanguarda do começo do XX, e trabalhos como os de Antonin Artaud, Jacques Copeau, Erwin Piscator e Bertolt Brecht. No pós-Segunda Guerra Mundial, surgiram inúmeros movimentos teatrais experimentais, sobretudo nos anos 60 e 70, o que tornaria o teatro experimental mundialmente disseminado.
Українська: Експериментальний театр бере свій початок з кінця 19 століття, з появою Західного театру на чолі з Альфредом Жаррі та його п'єсами про короля Убу, які були своєрідною відмовою від класичного способу написання та постановки п'єс в цілому. З плином часу, значення цього терміну змінилося. На сьогодні, авангардний театр вважається передовим видом театру на світовій арені. Він приймає різні форми прояву, котрі раніш вважалися радикальними. Театрали-авангардисти постійно намагаються вигадати щось нове, аналогів чому немає в жодному куточку світу.
