Description

Therese Staufenau geb. Gauß mit ihrem Mann Constantin Staufenau.

In einem Brief an Christian Ludwig Gerling schrieb Constantin Staufenau 1863: "Sie erhalten hier ein Bildchen Theresens; sie entschloß sich zur Sitzung vergangenen Sommer bei schon schweren Leiden, um mir ein sichtbares Andenken von sich zu hinterlassen. Da der photographische Apparat nach unserm Hause gebracht werden mußte, so ist die Beleuchtung nicht günstig gewesen, dürfte Ihnen aber doch, bei ziemlicher Ähnlichkeit, so wie es ist, lieb sein. Die freundliche Güte, welche Sie mir seit unserer Vereinigung entgegengebracht haben, läßt mich hoffen, daß Sie auch meinem Abbild ein Plätzchen in Ihrem Album neben meiner Teuersten gewähren werden."
