Français : Thomas Strasser, 1947
« Tommy (Thomas) Strasser est né en 1926 à Nove Zamky, en Tchécoslovaquie. En 1942, il ira travailler dans l’entreprise de sa famille à Budapest, en Hongrie. L’invasion par l’Allemagne en 1944 mène Tommy à un certain nombre de camps de travail forcé, puis à une marche de la mort. Grâce aux efforts de Raoul Wallenberg, il est parvenu à retourner à Budapest, où il a été envoyé dans le ghetto, puis dans un orphelinat. Après la libération en janvier 1945, ayant appris qu’aucun membre de sa famille n’avait survécu, il se rend en France. Il y vit jusqu’en 1948, année à laquelle il immigra au Canada dans le cadre du Projet des orphelins de guerre. »
