Description

It seems when you stand in a spot like this, you are going back ages. Trees have grown to full size, died, and then were blown over by the winds. Their skeletons like amid ancient boulders. When you see in the distance Lembert Dome, you have to understand that at one time you would have been under hundreds of feet of ice. For centuries a glacier moved ever so slowly and ground down a former peak into a rounded dome. It makes your life seem very short. As Robert Service said in a poem, 'Your life is but a single beat within the heart of time."
