Title
English: Times Square Building during construction, Seattle, 1916
Description
English:

The Times Square Building is located in downtown Seattle on a triangular-shaped block bordered by Fifth Avenue, Olive Way, and Stewart Street. Designed by architects Bebb and Gould in the Italianate style, the five-story building was completed in 1916 and became a Seattle Historic Landmark in 1984. This image of the Times Building, seen here while under construction, was taken facing east on Stewart Street from an upper floor of the Washington Securities Building on 3rd Avenue [no, it's not, see below]. The white building in the lower left corner of the frame is the New Washington Hotel [no, it's not, see below], which was completed in 1908 at 1902 Second Avenue.

Contrary to what MOHAI says, the white building in the lower left corner of the frame is the Securities Building on the northeast corner of Third and Stewart, not the New Washington Hotel (now Josephinum). Presumably the picture was taken from the New Washington Hotel.
