BROWN and SONS - Makers - 2 TRACEY STREET - KENSINGTON ROAD - LONDON’ 1998.60.64 Castle 102 (purchased) The so-called ‘Bach’ trumpet is quite different from the valveless trumpet of Bach’s day. It is an octave higher, and has valves. It was designed in the late 19th century to make it easier for trumpet players to play the high trumpet parts written in Bach’s time.
