New Zealand Machine Gun corps uniform tunic, WW1 Belonged to 38876 Private Thomas Edward Clough, 1NZEF Thomas Edward Clough, blacksmith, of Auckland, left NZ with the 23rd Reinforcements, Specialist Company, Machine Gun Section, on 2 April 1917. By March the following year he was at 1NZGH, Brockenhurst, where on 20.3.1918 he began a four-day leave period, travelling from Brockenhurst to Glasgow. He was issued with a Journey Meat Meal Card entitling him to up to four meat meals during his leave period. Only one coupon was used. This document was found in pocket of jacket, identifying wearer as Pte Thomas Edward Clough, 23rd Reinforcements, Machine-Gun section
