Summary[edit]

Description
English: Vertical, black and white photograph showing two girls or young women, probably on the banks of the River Des Peres before it was covered over. The river is in the foreground of the photograph and has a line of vertical, broken boards extending into the water from the far bank. One girl stands on the left side of the image. The other girl is on the right side of the image and is poised on small stone at the very edge of the river, as if to jump. Several homes or other buildings, as well as a young child, can be seen in the background at the top of a small hill.
