| Description | Traffic frequently backs up in the Bunker Hill area of south Coos Bay due to a high number of vehicles turning from southbound U.S. 101 onto Coos River Highway. During peak travel times, U.S. 101 traffic can back up several blocks to Coalbank Slough. As part of the U.S. 101 Bunker Hill Sidewalks and Flanagan Signal project, the Oregon Department of Transportation will adjust the travel lanes and concrete islands at the highway interchange to provide more room for vehicles turning from southbound U.S. 101 onto Coos River Highway. |
