English: NEW YORK -- The Quantico Marine Corps Band performed inside the 69th Regiment Armory, a National Historical Landmark, and home of the New York Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 69th Infantry Regiment. The band was invited inside after they finished marching in the 249th St. Patrick's Day Parade, here, March 17. The "Fighting 69th" has been leading the St. Patrick's Day Parade since 1851. A contingent of more than 300 Marines, including the Quantico Marine Corps Band, ceremonial marchers from Marine Barracks Washington, active and reserve Marines and Marine Corps League members from the New York area, marched in honor of Grand Marshal Raymond W. Kelly, New York City Police Commissioner and retired Marine Corps colonel. (Official Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Randall A. Clinton / RELEASED) |
