Description

U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY (April 23, 2014) Sailors and Marines observe a close-in weapons system during a live-fire training exercise aboard the multipurpose amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5). Bataan is the flagship for the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
