Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) conducting underway replenishment with the Ashtabula-class oiler USS Caloosahatchee (AO-98), circa in the early 1980s. The Forrest Sherman-class destroyer USS Manley (DD-940) is underway to the left.
Note: The given date of 1 August 1983 is incorrect, as USS Manley was decommissioned on 4 March 1983. The photo was probably taken during her last deployment to the Mediterranean Sea from 8 June to 22 December 1982. Dwight D. Eisenhower made a deployment to the Med from 5 January to 13 July 1982. The photo was at least taken after 1979, when Dwight D. Eisenhower first operated the Grumman F-14 Tomcat.
