Description
English: The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Midway (CV-41) is being maneuvered into Alava Pier at Naval Station Subic Bay, Philippines, by four tugs on 14 September 1982. Midway, with assigned Carrier Air Wing 5 (CVW-5), was deployed to the Western Pacific from 14 September to 11 December 1982. Identifiable warships in the background are the guided missile cruiser USS Sterett (CG-31) and the frigate USS Francis Hammond (FF-1067).
