Description
English: At sea aboard USS George Washington (CVN 73) Apr. 9, 2002 -- A member of the flight deck crew guides the arresting gear cable into its ready position on the flight deck. The aircraft carrier has four arresting gear cables, which are designed to grab the “Tailhook” on an aircraft during recovery operations aboard ship.
