Description
English: At sea aboard USS George Washington (CVN 73) Oct. 12, 2002 -- Hull Technician 3rd Class Robert Randall welds the aft railing on the captain's gig. The captain's gig is a small boat used for transporting the commander of the aircraft carrier to and from the ship while in port. It is also used for transporting the captain's official guests. Washington and her embarked Carrier Air Wing Seventeen (CVW-17) are approaching the end of scheduled deployment in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Southern Watch.
