Description
English: The Arabian Gulf (Mar. 24, 2003) -- Airman Crystal McBride, from Miami, Fla., prepares to chock and chain an U.S. Marine Corps AV-8B II Harrier strike aircraft after returning aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6). The AV-8B provides close air support to ground troops, reconnaissance, and other such air operations as may be directed. Bonhomme Richard is deployed conducting combat missions in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Iraqi Freedom is the multi-national coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.
