English: Coronado, Calif. (Sept. 5, 2003) -- Master Divers, Master Chief Petty Officer Lamont King, left, Master Chief Petty Officer James Fenwick (ret.), center, and Master Chief Hull Technician Michael J. Washington stand together during the retirement ceremony for Master Chief Washington. This is the second time the three of only five African-American Master Deep Sea Divers have stood together. Master Chief Fenwick presents both men with a photo of the first time they all stood together which also included Master Diver, Master Chief Petty Officer Carl Brashear (ret.), who was the first African-American Master Diver and whose story is the basis for the movie, “Men of Honor.” U.S. Navy photo by Photographer’s Mate 2nd Class Eric Logsdon.
