Image title | Sailors of USS Chicago (SSN 721) observe morning colors at half-mast on Sept. 11, 2003, with a flag that was sent from the New York City Fire Department. The flag was sent to the city of Chicago, and in turn was presented to the crew of USS Chicago. According to Cmdr. Craig Selbrede, USS Chicago's commanding officer, the flag honors those who died on 9/11 as well as those who perished at the onset of America's involvement in World War II. "This flag will be flown today in memory of the men and women who died September 11 and to pay homage to the brave men and woman that fought and died here at Pearl Harbor."
