Description
English: Newport News, Va. (Mar. 18, 2004) - Fireman Josh Dillabough, of Dixon, Ill., pulls back a lever to start a blowing-down process on Diesel Engine Number One aboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The blowing-down process removes all air, water and non-condensable gases from the engine. The nuclear powered aircraft carrier is undergoing a six-month Post Shakedown Availability period at Northrop Grumman Newport News Shipbuilding, Newport News, Va. before leaving for its homeport in San Diego, Calif.
