Description
English: Naval Air Station Brunswick, Maine (Sept. 1, 2004) – Aviation Machinist’s Mate 2nd Class Christian Mesina, right, demonstrates the proper use of a ring gear box (RGB) compressor puller to Commander, Naval Air Systems Command, Vice Adm. Walter Massenburg. In the past, squadron personnel lacked the proper took to access the spring assembly and clean the RGB thoroughly. The new cleaning process reduces the amount of metal contamination, which resulted in premature failures of the RGB.
