Pri-Fly is the controlling agency on aviation ships and amphibious aviation assault ships that is responsible for air traffic control of aircraft within five nautical miles of the ship. Truman and embarked Carrier Air Wing Eight (CVW-8) are currently participating in carrier qualifications off the East Coast of the United States in preparation for a scheduled deployment.
