English: Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (Dec. 31, 2004) - Lieutenant Pete Obenauer and Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Richard Cabatit of Naval Environmental and Preventive Medicine Unit Six (NEPMU-6) prepare for deployment by packing entomology vector surveillance and control kits for shipment to Indonesia. Entomology kits are used to trap mosquitoes, ticks and other disease carrying insects for examination and possible extermination if discovered to be carriers of malaria or dengue fever. NEPMU-6 is deploying to Indonesia to provide humanitarian support and conduct water quality testing, insect collection and examination for disease, and medical assistance as part of larger disaster relief efforts following the Tsunami event on Dec. 26.
