Description
English: Naval Station Everett, Wash. (Jan. 24, 2005) - Seaman Apprentice Mike McDonald secures a 8 by 26 foot lighted gong buoy to the deck of the Coast Guard Keeper-class coastal buoy tender Henry Blake (WLM 563) on board Naval Station Everett, Wash. Henry Blake will take the buoy to Salmon Banks, south of San Juan Islands. The Strait of Juan de Fuca is a part of the ship's area of responsibility along with Puget Sound and the northern coastal portion of the 13th District. The ships primary mission is servicing navigational aids but it also provides marine environmental protection, and can perform search and rescue operations and is icebreaking capable.
