Description
English: Persian Gulf (Jan. 26, 2005) - Lt. David Dequeljoe, a Landing Signal Officer (LSO) assigned to the "Swordsmen" of Fighter Squadron Three Two (VF-32), relays approach and recovery information to Sailors working in the Combat Direction Center (CDC), while an S-3B Viking, assigned to the "Checkmates" of Sea Control Squadron Two Two (VS-22), makes its approach prior to recovering aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). The LSO's primary responsibility is the safe and expeditious recovery of fixed-wing aircraft aboard ship. Carrier Air Wing Three (CVW-3) is embarked aboard Truman and is providing close air support and conducting intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance over Iraq.
