Description
English: San Diego, Calif. (Mar. 17, 2005) - Operations Specialist 2nd Class Christopher Spurlock, assigned to the amphibious transport dock ship USS Dubuque (LPD 8), reads a page from the book “Clever Tom and the Leprechaun”, to a fifth grade class at La Mesa Dale Elementary School in San Diego, Calif. Dubuque Sailors visit the school every week as part of the ship’s Partnership in Education program. In addition to reading stories, Spurlock and other Dubuque Sailors raised more than $700 to buy 2,300 books for the schools new book depot.
