English: Pascagoula, Miss. (Mar. 29, 2005) – Meryl Chertoff, ship sponsor and wife of Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff, initials a placard that will be displayed aboard the U.S. Coast Guard's first National Security Cutter (WMSL 750). The ceremony to authenticate the keel confirms the keel is "truly and fairly laid" for the first ship of this class of highly capable, technologically advanced, multi-mission cutters for the Coast Guard and Department of Homeland Security.
