Marines assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment secure Al Ubaydi during operation Matador. Operation Matador is a weeklong hunt for insurgents along the Syrian border, which is believed to be the main entry point into Iraq for foreign insurgents. 2nd Marine Division is conducting security and stabilization operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).
