English: Persian Gulf (June 5, 2005) - Flight deck personnel observe a Rigid Inflatable Hull Boat (RHIB) assigned to the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) as it pulls alongside a dhow to return a medical evacuee that was brought aboard to receive medical attention. The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is currently deployed to the Persian Gulf conducting operations in support of multi-national forces in Iraq and maritime security operations in the Gulf in order to set the conditions for security and stability in the region. Vinson will end its deployment with a homeport shift to Norfolk, Va., and commence a three-year refuel and complex overhaul. U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 3rd Class Chris Henry (RELEASED) |
