English: New Orleans (Sept. 7, 2005) – U.S. Navy Aviation Warfare Systems Operator 2nd Class Kevin Parrish, a search and rescue swimmer assigned to the "Emerald Knights" of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Seven Five (HS-75), looks out over the city of New Orleans while transporting civilian medical personnel to the New Orleans Civic Center, while assisting mandatory evacuation efforts following the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. HS-75 is embarked aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, currently operating in the Gulf of Mexico. The Navy's involvement in the Hurricane Katrina humanitarian assistance operations is led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense.
