Description
English: New London, Conn. (Jan. 19, 2006) - Electronics Technician 2nd Class Martin Franklin explains to Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV), the Honorable, Dr. Donald C. Winter the operation and capabilities of the periscope aboard the Los Angeles-class submarine USS Hartford (SSN 768). During his recent visit, Winter was able to get a first-hand look at how Sailors aboard the submarine operate ashore and at sea. SECNAV is in the northeast for a tour to familiarize himself with the construction, operation, and maintenance of the U.S. Navy's Submarine Fleet. U.S. Navy photo by Chief Journalist Craig P.
