English: PACIFIC OCAEAN (June 7, 2007) - Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Christopher Carpenter conducts members of the Marine Forces Pacific Band as they rehearse in the hanger bay aboard the amphibious ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5). The band is slated to perform throughout the Western Pacific and Oceania in support of Pacific Partnership. Peleliu deployed from her San Diego homeport for Pacific Partnership, a four-month humanitarian assistance mission to Southeast Asia and Oceania. The medical crew aboard Peleliu will provide general and ophthalmology surgery, basic medical evaluation and treatment, preventive medicine treatment, dental screenings and treatment, optometry screenings, eyewear distribution, public health training and veterinary services as requested by the host nations.
