Description
English: COLON, Panama (July 12, 2007) - Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Charles Givens, Task Group 40.9 independent duty corpsman, and interpreter Master-at-Arms 1st Class Hector Cardona demonstrate the proper procedures for administering an IV while giving combat medical lifesaver training to Panamanian sailors. Task Group 40.9 is deployed as part of the pilot Global Fleet Station (GFS) to the Caribbean basin and Central America. The mission is designed to validate the GFS concept for the Navy and support U.S. Southern Command objectives for its area of responsibility by enhancing cooperative partnerships with regional maritime services and improving operational readiness for the participating partner nations.
