English: 101109-N-1004S-148 PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 9, 2010) The Mexican navy vessel ARM Valentín Gómez Farías (P110) holds position off the port bow of the Carnival cruise ship C/V Splendor while passengers aboard the cruise ship line the ship's weather decks. The aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) was diverted from its training maneuvers at the direction of Commander, U.S. Third Fleet, and at the request of the U.S. Coast Guard, to a position near the Carnival cruise ship C/V Splendor. Ronald Reagan is facilitating the delivery of 4,500 pounds of supplies to CV Splendor after the cruise ship became stranded 150 nautical miles southwest of San Diego early Monday.
