Mark Becker, right, Southern Partnership Station 2011 mission commander, right, discusses Project Handclasp with Jefe del Estado Mayor General de La Fuerza Naval de El Salvador Contralmirante Juan Antonio Calderon Gonzales, after a Project Handclasp delivery during a scheduled port visit supporting Southern Partnership Station 2011. Gonzalez is the El Salvador equivalent of the Chief of Naval Operations. Project Handclasp is a U.S. Navy program that transports donated educational, humanitarian and goodwill material on a space-available basis aboard U.S. Navy ships for distribution to foreign nation recipients. Southern Partnership Station is an annual deployment of U.S. ships to the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility in the Caribbean and Latin America.
