English: The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Center for Excellence in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance (COE-DMHA), on behalf of the U.S. military’s Pacific Command (USPACOM), held a regional health collaboration workshop August 30-31 in Jakarta. The focus of the workshop was to improve collaboration between military and civilian disaster health responders, specifically on the professionalization of Foreign Medical Teams (FMTs) in disasters.
Military and civilian representatives from 18 Southeast Asia and Asia-Pacific nations were in attendance, along with representatives from UN agencies, the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
