DescriptionUltrastructural-Modifications-in-the-Mitochondria-of-Hypoxia-Adapted-Drosophila-melanogaster-pone.0045344.s003.ogv |
English: A mitochondrion from HA fly thoracic muscle. Movie shows the three-dimensional details of a large mitochondrion reconstructed using electron tomography. Clip1: A rapid sequence through 50 4.8 nm-thick slices of the tomographic volume. Clip2: Rotations of the surface-rendered volume after segmentation of the inner and outer membranes. The outer membrane is translucent to visualize the cristae. 641 cristae are present, many of which are branched. Clip3: Rotation showing only 11 representative cristae that demonstrate their fragmentation. Clip4: Zoom in and rotation showing 4 adjacent cristae. Clip5: Restoration of all the cristae and partial rotation ending with the slice through the left-hand portion of the surface rendered mitochondrion. |
