Title
unit of Cantiaci (obverse)
Description
English: A copper alloy Iron Age bronze unit, probably of Dubnovellaunos of the Cantiaci (c.25 BC - 5 AD). The obverse appears to have an animal facing left with two horns, which may be a boar with upright ears or tusks in the wrong place. The reverse shows a horse stepping right, with its left foreleg at a right angle, possibly with a rider seated upon its back with the rider's leg extended inside the horse's right foreleg. Both the obverse and reverse of the coin are pitted and corroded, and the coin is incomplete, making further identification difficult. ABC 348.
