Description
Français : Cérémonie de remise du titre de docteur honoris causa au docteur Chipepo Kankasa organisée le 6 octobre 2021 à l'occasion de son déplacement à Montpellier pour les Montpellier Global Days.


Directrice du Centre d’excellence sur la prise en charge du sida pédiatrique (Pediatric HIV Centre of Excellence) et du programme HIV/AIDS de l’hôpital universitaire de Lusaka, le docteur Chipepo Kankasa est l’initiatrice de l’accès aux traitements antirétroviraux des enfants africains infectés par le HIV et des stratégies de prévention de la transmission du VIH de la mère à l’enfant. Au fil des années, ses objectifs se sont étendus à la mise en œuvre de programmes de soins pour d’autres maladies infectieuses sévères chez l’enfant, telles que la tuberculose ou les cancers viro-induits et pour les enfants victimes de violences sexuelles.

Elle est également conseillère auprès du ministère de la Santé zambien et des instances internationales (OMS, UNICEF, PEPFAR). L’impact de ses actions ont largement dépassé les frontières de son pays pour bénéficier à la santé des enfants où qu’ils soient dans le monde.
