Italiano: Decorata da Annibale Angelini e Vincenzo Paliotti in occasione delle nozze, nel 1857, fra Mario Chigi e la principessa Antonietta Sayn Wittgenstein, la Sala delle Quattro Stagioni prende il nome dagli affreschi nelle lunette della volta: Primavera ed Estate sul lato orientale, Autunno e Inverno su quello occidentale, verso il cortile. Al centro della volta, all’interno di un drappo sorretto da putti, gli stemmi delle due famiglie hanno sostituito quello originario degli Aldobrandini. Il fregio lungo le pareti è invece caratterizzato da quattro ovali in cui putti alati, armati di freccia, cavalcano animali reali e fantastici.
Ai lati della porta da cui si accede alla Sala del Consiglio dei Ministri sono presenti due mappamondi di Matthäus Greuter. Su uno è rappresentata la sfera celeste (1636), sull’altro le terre emerse allora conosciute (1632). |
