Description
  • Italiano: Il cosiddetto "Vaso Torrita" (dal luogo di ritrovamento nel 1870, Torrita di Siena), alabastron in vetro-cammeo, ossia costituito da due strati sovrapposti di vetro, di colori diversi, come il più celebre "Vaso Portland". Fine del sec. I a.C. Decorato con una scena di culto dionisiaco: una donna (sacerdotessa?) sta di fronte a un putto che regge una cysta mystica accanto a una statua di Priapo. Dalle collezioni del Museo archeologico nazionale di Firenze non accessibili al pubblico, ma esposto in occasione della mostra Pretiosa vitrea, nel 2018. Foto di Giovanni Dall'Orto, 12 gennaio 2018.
  • English: The so-called "Torrita vase"(named after the place in which it was found in 1870, Torrita di Siena). An alabastron in "cameo glass", i.e. made in two differently coloured layers of glass, as the better known "Portland vase". late 1st centyrt BC.
