Description
Deutsch: Postmeilensäule (Viertelmeilenstein); bez. 1723; Viertelmeilenstein (Original), verkehrsgeschichtlich von Bedeutung. Der Viertelmeilenstein aus Sandstein weist die seltene Primitivform auf. Der ca. 1 m hohe, oben spitz zulaufende Stein trägt die Inschriften „AR“ (Augustus Rex), „1723“ und das Posthornzeichen sowie auf dem zweiten Spiegel die Reihen-Nr. 9. Der ursprüngliche Standort war aus Richtung Dresden kommend, am jetzigen Abzweig nach Glashütte. Im Zuge des Straßenausbaus der Straße Dresden – Dippoldiswalde ist er wahrscheinlich um 1835 gegenüber der Posthalterei umgesetzt worden. Der Stein ist einer der wenigen originalen Postmeilensäulen in Sachsen.
