Description |
English: Two photos compare the view across the landscape, showing the increase in vegetation. Worthington Farm. Views between Worthington and Thomas farms were critical during the Battle of Monocacy. Farmers cleared the land for agricultural use, and by the mid-nineteenth century the character of a typical farm in the region was cultivated fields, meadows, pasture, occasional woodlots, and a few orchards. In recent years, vegetation along the embankment of I-270 has obstructed these views.
