Description
English: Viola in case Viola sent to New Zealand during WW2 by the German Red Cross, for the use of internees on Somes Island in Wellington Harbour. It arrived too late and was sold to Lewis Eadys in Wellington, where it was subsequently purchased in the mid-late 1940s by the vendor.

Notes Viola sent to New Zealand by German Red Cross. Intended for use of prisoners of war on Somes Island in Wellington Harbour. However by the time the viola arrived and had been processed the war had already ended. The viola ended up for sale at Lewis Eady's in Wellington
