| Description | El Panteón es un edificio que lleva en el frontis la inscripción «Aux grands hommes la patrie reconnaissante» («A los grandes hombres, la patria agradecida», y alberga los féretros de 65 personalidades de la historia de Francia. Entre los enterrados en el Panteón se encuentran Voltaire, Rousseau, Victor Hugo, Émile Zola, Marie Curie, Louis Braille, Jean Monnet y Soufflot, el arquitecto del edificio. En 1851 Léon Foucault instaló aquí su famoso péndulo, conocido como Péndulo de Foucault, que permite demostrar la rotación de la Tierra: desde el centro del domo puedes ver el hilo del que cuelga el péndulo. |
