Summary
[edit]DescriptionVizier Ankhamahor’s tomb reliefs d2.jpg |
English: Delicately carved reliefs from the mastaba tomb of vizier Ankhmahor who served during the 6th dynasty of Egypt during the Old Kingdom. He was the 'Overseer of the Great House' of the king and a ka-priest. Despite his high status within Egypt's bureaucracy, his tomb in king Teti's Saqqara cemetery is quite modest compared to those of vizier Mereruka and Kagemni. Ankhmahor's tomb is generally remembered for featuring several scenes of people undergoing medical treatments. This has earned this tomb the name "the tomb of the physician", even though Ankhmahor was certainly not a doctor but rather a Vizier which was the second most powerful office during Egypt's Old Kingdom state after that of the king himself. |
