Quasi-random googling dates this prototype to 1965 rather than 1969 which had been the photographer's guess. It also appears that the model was scheduled to take the Porsche 2 litre flat 6 cylinder engine of that time and that it was "killed off" by US market negativity against rear engined cars following Ralph Nader's successful campaign against the Chevrolet Corvair. However, you might need slightly more copper bottomed sourcing before transferring that to a wiki article on the prototype.
