Il était accompagné de Henry Salt (1780-1827), un artiste confirmé qui fut son secrétaire et dessinateur. Mountnorris publia trois volumes des récits de ses voyages à son retour en Grande-Bretagne, sous le nom de Vicomte Valentia, titre sous lequel il était connu plus jeune. L'ouvrage comprend des gravures basées sur les peintures et dessins réalisés au cours du voyage par Salt, ainsi que deux cartes très détaillées. Le Tome 1 est consacré principalement à l'Inde, le Tome 2 à la région de la mer Rouge, le Tome 3 à l'Éthiopie et à l'Égypte. Une caractéristique particulièrement remarquable de l'ouvrage est le récit de Salt de sa visite des hauts-plateaux d'Éthiopie en 1805.
Description et voyages; Mer Rouge English: George Annesley, second Earl of Mountnorris (1770-1844), was a British aristocrat who, in 1802-06, undertook an extensive tour of parts of Asia and Africa. He was accompanied by Henry Salt (1780-1827), a trained artist who served as his secretary and draftsman. Mountnorris published this three-volume account of his travels upon his return to Britain, under the name Viscount Valentia, the title by which he was known in his younger years. The work includes engravings based on paintings and drawings made on the voyage by Salt, as well as two very detailed maps. Volume 1 is devoted mainly to India; Volume 2 to the Red Sea region; Volume 3 to Ethiopia and Egypt. A particularly noteworthy feature of the book is Salt’s account of his 1805 visit to the Ethiopian highlands.

Mountnorris publicou este relato de três-volumes sobre suas viagens assim que regressou à Grã-Bretanha, sob o nome de Visconde Valentia, título pelo qual era conhecido quando mais novo.
