Description
Deutsch: 1888 von der Firma Karstadt als erstes Kaufhaus Lübecks errichtet und bis zum Umzug in den Neubau 1906 genutzt. Von 1906 bis 1921 Sitz des Kinos Metropol, danach befand sich hier u. a. das Büro der Architekten „Hahn & Runge“, nach dem Krieg in den ersten beiden Etagen die DANAT, dann die Dresdner Bank. Bis 1914 befand sich im zweiten Stock das Atelier von Lorenz Christensen, danach das Atelier „Thora Thomsen“. Die Firma behielt nach Thoras Heirat 1919 und Tod 1939 ihren Namen. In der III. Etage residierte Harry Maasz „Atelier für Gartengestaltung“. 1942 wurde es ein Opfer des Luftangriffs auf Lübeck.
