De bodem waar die op rusten heeft namelijk 300 keer zo hoge biomassa dan andere stukken bodem. Prof. dr. Han Lindeboom van de Wageningen UR deed onderzoek naar die gebieden, en daarover vertelt hij in dit college. Deze week in Universiteit van Nederland: Marien ecoloog prof. dr. Han Lindeboom! Han Lindeboom is hoogleraar Mariene Ecologie aan de Universiteit van Wageningen en onderzoeker voor het instituut IMARES. Zijn expertise ligt bij het onderzoeken van ecosystemen op zee, en hij stopt zoveel energie in de bescherming hiervan dat hij zich soms de woede van vissers op de hals haalt. Dat krijg je, als je passie hebt voor je vak. En durf die passie maar eens in twijfel te trekken als we je vertellen dat hij ooit anderhalf jaar tussen miljoenen pinguïns heeft geleefd in een tentje op het subantarctische eiland Marion. |
