„In Gold zwischen zwei blauen Wellenpfählen ein aufgerichteter rot bewehrter und gezungter schwarzer Löwe.“
Der Kreistag des Landkreises Nordsachsen hat am 10. Dezember 2008 beschlossen, das vorstehend beschriebene Wappen zu führen.
